Life Cycle Of A Gray Wolf
Wolf Pup
A wolf Pup is born deaf and blind
A Mother wolf will raise at least 4-6 pups
Pups are born on April or May
The Mother stays in the den with her pups and she is also in charge of bringing the food from the hunt heard.
Juvenile Wolf
A wolf will leave its den when it is a juvenile with its mother
The juvenile can now see clear
The juvenile eats only little pieces of meat because it still doesn't have all its teeth. This makes it a carnivore
A juvenile has small legs but it runs fast
It is 3-5 feet long
Gray Wolf
A Young Adult
A young adult wolf starts joining the heard of the hunt
some wolfs are nocturnal, but some could be awake in the morning
sometime they howl at the moon at night and they always mark there territory by scent
A young wolf does not yet have all its fur




















Adult Gray Wolf
An adult wolf (female) will raise wolf and will not join the heard for some time
This is when they will separate and start there own heard
The Packs will be of 2-25 wolfs
By this time the wolfs are hunters and eat ungulates or other hoofed animal
By this time they weigh 51-110 pounds
The top layer of fur is resistant to dirt and the bottom to water

The "alpha male" is the leader of the pack
Packs are usually 12 or more 
They fight intruders
They can run 20-30 miles a day
They go days without eating
They live in Asia, Europe and North America
They live in forests, deserts, mountains, tundra, grasslands
The name of the gray wolf is "canis lupus"
They live 10-15 years
